On June 19th, 2020, Murray Stanley Pratt passed away in the Cedarstone Enhanced Care Facility at the age of 68 years due to complications of Diabetes. He was born on July 22nd, 1951 in Belmont, N.S., the son of the late Irving and Clara Pratt. He is survived by his sisters, Sandra Pratt and Teressa Laforest (Marcel) and his nephew and niece, Matthew and Madeleine Laforest.
For most of his career, he worked for AMJ Campbell Moving and Storage and travelled throughout the US and Canada as a long haul truck driver. He lived in Mississauga, ON for much of his adult life and retired back to Nova Scotia to be closer to family. In his youth, he loved sports, particularly playing baseball and fishing. As an adult, he thoroughly enjoyed many fishing trips with friends in northern Ontario and had quite a collection of fishing gear.
Many thanks to the nurses and doctors at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre and the entire health care team of Cedarstone who took great care of him as his condition worsened.
A private graveside service will be held in Belmont Cemetery at a later date. Donations may be made to Diabetes Canada or a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. Online messages of condolence may be sent to Murray’s family by visiting www.ColchesterCommunity.com
