MONTOUR, Barry ‘’Bear’’
1960-2020
At the Anna-Laberge Hospital, on November 30th, 2020, at the age of sixty years, passed away Barry Montour from Kahnawà:ke.
Survived by his wife of 27 years Lanny, his parents Betty and Robert Montour, brothers, and sisters: Joey (Joanie), Janice, Robert and Neil, also many nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and his fur baby Buddy.
Barry played lacrosse for Kahnawà:ke, he was a skilled player who loved the game; he played with passion, vigor and perseverance, making his family proud. He was also dedicated to working Iron, helping build many buildings, bridges and iron structures on both sides of the border. He will be remembered for being a skilled Mohawk Iron Worker, leaving behind a legacy he shares with the many men who came before him and those he leaves behind. He loved riding his Harley Davidson, four-wheeler and skidoo along-side his buddies whenever he could.
He worked tirelessly on his cabin in Tioweró:ton. He built the cabin from the ground up adding a new project each season and toiling over the land. Barry built the structure and Lanny perfected the decor; together they created a little cabin in the woods that they would happily share with family and friends.
Today we don’t say goodbye, we say “See You Later Bear”.
