Michael Anthony Chatfield
1993-2020
Michael Anthony Chatfield – 27, Edmonton,
Alberta, formerly of Truro. It breaks our hearts to announce the
passing of Michael Anthony Chatfield that occurred suddenly on Monday,
November 16, 2020, at University of Alberta Hospital, Edmonton,
Alberta. Born in Truro, he was a son of Mary Gale Chatfield and the
late Michael Warwick.
Michael was employed in the roofing industry, following his
Dad Dave’s footsteps; he was often able to work alongside
his family and friends, many of whom became family and all will miss
him dearly. He excelled at sports from an early age, deciding on table
tennis. By the age of 15, he rose to Number 3 in Canada and had won a
bronze medal at The 2007 Canada Winter Games in Whitehorse; he was
also named Sport Nova Scotia Athlete of the Year.
Michael was extremely passionate about his family and spent
as much time as he could with them, especially his Mom and sister,
Jill. And don’t think for one minute that brother, Ben,
wasn’t in on the shenanigans. He had a special bond with all
three of his grandmothers, especially Gram Linda, who was always his
biggest fan.
Along with his mother, Michael is survived by his brother,
Ben Chatfield; sister, Jill Chatfield; grandparents, Linda Chatfield,
Barbara Dunning (Douglas), William Warwick (Sandra); step-father,
David Moore (Arlene); step grandparents, Nadine McKay, William Moore;
uncles, Paul (Tracy), Dwayne.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Visitation and funeral
arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced when
confirmed. If so desired, donations in Michael’s memory to
IWK Health Centre Foundation are welcomed. Private messages of
