Melvin W. Lawrence
1928-2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Melvin William Lawrence of
Florenceville-Bristol, NB announces that he passed away peacefully on
Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at the River View Manor, Bath, with his loving
wife by his side, at the age of 92. Melvin is now resting in the arms
of his Saviour, whom he loved and served all his life.
Born March 23, 1928, Melvin was the son of James and Mildred Lawrence
of Charleston, NB. He was predeceased by his parents; his brothers,
Vaughn, Gerald, Ivan and Wilmot; sisters, Beulah, Rowena and Muriel,
son-in-law, Gary Marston; as well as his precious little
great-granddaughter, Lindsay.
Melvin is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Marion; his 7
children, Stephen (Laura), Brooks, AB, Roma Lee (Michael), Pickering,
ON, Arwilda (Pete), Jasper, TN, Larry (Tanya), Florenceville, Pamela,
Fredericton, Jeffrey (Janet), Brooks, AB, and Bernetta, Charlottetown,
PEI; 11 grandchildren, Blake (Samantha), Dwight (Roxanne), Ryan
(Siri), Meghan (Jordan), Jenna, Chad, Christin (Matt), Joseph,
Katelynn, Kelsey, Emma and Jane; 12 great-grandchildren, Darwin,
Shelby, Jeremy, Atom, Idea, Cale, Kian, Steven, Byron, Colton,
Baillie, and Daniel. Melvin is also survived by his brother, Neil
(Elizabeth); sisters Pauline (Kenneth) and Audrey; sister-in-laws,
Rita and Alice, as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral service will be held at a later date from the L.R. Giberson
Funeral Chapel, 207 Burnham Road, Florenceville-Bristol, NB. The
Interment will be in the Hunter Community Cemetery, Stickney, NB at a
later date. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada,
River View Manor, Bath, Free Will Baptist Church, Bristol or charity
of choice.
The family would especially like to thank the doctors, nurses and
staff of the River View Manor who took such good care of Melvin during
his time there. The family appreciates the services and care of the
