Matthew Keats

July 3, 1985 – January 23, 2020
It is with deepest sorrow that the family of Matthew Keats of Hare Bay announce his sudden passing in St. John’s on Thursday January 23, 2020 at the age of 34 years. He leaves to mourn: his wife of seven years, Jennifer Keats, his son, Andrew, his parents Derrick and June Keats of Dover, his sister Sherry Collins of Toronto, his parents in law Raymond and Gladys Payne of Stephenville, brothers in law Brandon of Stephenville, Dean (Judy Terry) of St. John’s, and sister in law Tammy Hammond (Keith) of Chemainus, BC as well as a very large circle of family and friends.
Matthew was a man of few words but deep feelings. He lived his short life to the fullest. Matthew was hardworking, honest, kind, intelligent, loving, and approached life with a deep sense of charity and wanting to help others. He loved his family above all and delighted in every moment he spent with his wife and son. They lacked for nothing.
The family would like to extend deepest thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Cancer Care Centers in St. John’s and Gander who did everything they could to make his battle with esophageal cancer as smooth as possible.
Times and dates of viewings and services to be announced.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dr. H Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Center or the Canadian Cancer Society – Esophageal Cancer fund.
