3 octobre 2020
NAKAMURA (nee Hashimoto), Masako, better known by those close to her as “Baachan” (grandma) or “Mummy”– peacefully took her last breath on October 03, 2020 in Toronto in the presence of family. Beloved wife of the late, Lawrence Michizu, cherished mother of Ken (deceased), Christine, Grace, Mark and Muriel, favourite grandmother of Stephanie (Sean), Christopher (Rana), Sarah, Leah, David, Celine and Stephan, loving great-grandmother of Garion, treasured mother-in-law of Masatoshi (Matt) and dear Canada mother of Atsushi Sunami and grandmother of Ayana. During her 95 years, Baachan touched the hearts of countless family members and friends in Canada, Japan and South Korea through her overwhelming generosity, perpetual humour and loving kindness. She will be profoundly missed by all that knew her. Due to COVID-19, a private family gathering will be held at Yorke Chapel, Turner & Porter Funeral Home on October 10, 2020 at 11:30 am (EDT). Donations in lieu of flowers can be made in her honour by cheque payable to the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre (JCCC) Foundation or online at jccc.on.ca/join-support/donate.
