Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Mary Sherman (nee Mendrechora). |Mary passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at the age of 92 years.
Mary will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Linda Marie Elliott and her husband Ken Elliott; her son Donald Richard Sherman and his wife Joni Smiley; four grandchildren, Christopher Daniel Elliott and his wife Stefanie Elliott, Melissa Lynn Wilde and her husband Chad Wilde, Amy Lea Sheane and her husband Paul Sheane, Jeremy Mathew Sherman and his wife April Sherman; and six great-grandchildren Alex Elliott, Kaitlyn Elliott, Gabriella Sheane, Jaxon Sheane, Olivia Sherman, and Ava Sherman.
Mary is predeceased by her parents Lena and John Mendrechora; cousin Helen Piwawarski; daughter-in-law Tracy Lea Sherman; her best friend Raymond Hutchinson; and her former husband Daniel Sherman.
Mary was born on January 7, 1928 in Forest Lawn, Alberta. She received her education at Bow River School and Western Canada High School. Mary was a part of and assisted her husband in their business’ which included Colgrove Contractors, General Taxi, and Daniel Realty. Mary had a life-long passion for dancing and keen interest in treasure hunting and the casino experience. Charitable causes were close to Mary’s heart, including working as a volunteer at the Kirby Center along with supporting the SPCA and Women In Need Society.
Mary has requested that no formal public service to be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choosing in Mary’s honour.
