Mary Betty Lorraine Comeau
September 26, 1936 – December 22, 2020
With her family at Hallowell House on Tuesday December 22, 2020, Mary Betty DeCoene (nee Comeau) passed away at the age of 84.
Predeceased by her husband Guy Ferdinand DeCoene. Much loved mother of Andre (Lynn) DeCoene of Whitby, Michelle (Marie Elaine) DeCoene of Cantley, QC and Pierre (Maria Di Quinzio) DeCoene of Lorraine, QC, grandmother of Stephan (Ashley), Sarah (Chris), Angelica (Yahia) and Brandon and great grandmother of Landon and Autumn. Dear sister of John (Judy) Comeau, Joan Byrne (late Edward) and Faye Thompson (late Tommy).
Betty’s fierce spirit matched only by her abundance of love and selflessness will be forever etched in the minds of those who had the privilege of being part of her world. Her family will forever value the lessons of honour and respect for others that she as a role model instilled in all of them.
Betty’s quick wit and dry sense of humour will be sadly missed during family get togethers. We love you and will miss you dearly Mom, Nana. The DeCoene family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Hallowell House family who provided exceptional care to our mother during her time there. We were able to sleep at night knowing our mother was never alone and was loved as one of their own.
A family interment will take place in Digby, NS when circumstance permits. Memorial donations to the Hallowell House Resident’s Council would be appreciated by the family.
