La célébration de
Mary Alison Hains Rowan
24 juin 1922 –
21 septembre 2020
Born in Toronto on June 24th, 1922. Passed in Beaconsfield, at sunrise, on the last day of summer, September 21st 2020.
We remember Mary, mother of Carol (Jobie Weetaluktuk) and Susan (Richard Pucci), grandmother of Nally, Zebedee, and Asinnajaq; and Sam and Sydney Vertolli; as a joyful, musical, passionate, community contributor.
We celebrate Mary as a profoundly caring grandmother, dedicated teacher, inspiring story teller and singer.
We recognize the ways in which her principles drove her commitment to community and the world through her work as a political activist and her voice as a founding member of the Raging Grannies of Montreal, West Islanders for Nuclear Disarmament, and the Voice of Women.
We invite you to engage with Mary’s spirit of joy. To put on a beaming smile and live life vibrantly as you: share meals with your family and friends; walk in the woods and by the shore; cultivate gardens; read, write, paint, sew;
and take steps to ensure that our world becomes a better place.
