On Saturday, April 11th, 2020 our hearts were broken and our lives changed forever as our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend Marjorie English (nee MacIsaac) passed away peacefully at her home in Doyles surrounded by her loving family at the age of 87 years. Marjorie was predeceased by her parents Jim and Alice MacIsaac (nee Edmunds), her husband Allan English in 2016, son Arthur English, daughter Ann Marie English and grandson Arthur English Jr, granddaughter Madeline Newman, great grandson baby Jerome English, Brothers; Ambrose MacIsaac, Gordon MacIsaac, Michael MacIsaac, sisters; Rita Pinhorn and Stella Sutton.
Leaving to mourn with many fond and precious memories her children; Barbara (David) of Doyles, Richard (Anna) of Dryden ON, Wanda of Doyles, Cathy (Dwain) of Cape Ray. She will also be sadly missed by her grandchildren; Alan Jr, Aaren, Mike, Lynn, Scott, Kristin, Jeremy, Dylan, great grandchildren; Kayla, Kyle, Ryan, Adam, Casey, Claire, Ritchie, Owen, Maliyah, Alan Jr, Colton and Julia.
Marjorie will be fondly remembered as a gentle soul and cherished friend to her extended family and large circle of friends including her caregivers, Tina Janes, Doreen MacIsaac and Shelly MacArthur. She loved her cards, bingo, playing darts and her passion for cooking always meant feeding her family a big ol scoff. Her family meant everything to her and this included the never ending love she had for Ted her dog and Jack her cat whom she adored and were great company for her.
In keeping with Marjorie’s wishes cremation has taken place. Due to the current public health advisory of COVID–19, the family has planned a service for later when everyone can get together and celebrate the life of someone whom we all loved and cherished. Funeral arrangements in the care of East Haven Funeral Home Inc, 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques, 695-2300. www.easthavenfuneralhome.com
“Miss me but let me go”
When I come to the end of the road,
and the sun has set for me.
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room
why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little—but not too long,
and not with your head bowed low
.
Remember the love that was once shared,
Miss me, but let me go.
For this is a journey we all must take,
and each must go alone
It’s all a part of the master’s plan,
a step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart,
go to the friends we know.
Bear your sorrow in good deeds.
Miss me, but let me go.
