Maria Schwarz (Thoeni)
September 23, 1932 – February 10, 2020
Maria Schwarz passed away at home on Monday, February 10, 2020. Our Mom is now reunited with her beloved husband of 67 years, Felix. Predeceased by her daughter, Monica (Ken) and son-in-law, Michael. Devoted mother of Sonja, Elisabeth and Hermann (Julie). Oma will be loving remembered by her grandchildren, Shannon (Neil), Stephen, Samantha (Mitch), Cindy and Sarah-Rose and Great Oma to Aiden, William, Lilly, Owen, Tyler, Casey, Ella and James. Maria leaves extended family in her beautiful homeland of Austria and Switzerland. Mom was the glue that kept our family strong and she nurtured all her children with her strong sense of family and her amazing culinary skills. Our memories of Mom will always be close in our hearts. Special thanks to all the staff and residents at Beacon Heights Retirement Residence for their kind and compassionate care of Mom over the past few years. Family and friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O’Connor) Ottawa, on Thursday, February 20th from 2 pm to 5 pm. Funeral Mass to be Celebrated at St. Albertus Pfarrgemeinde Catholic Church, 416 Parkdale Avenue, Ottawa, on Friday, February 21st at 10:30 am. In Memoriam donations to St. Albertus Pfarrgemeinde Church or the Ottawa Heart Institute greatly appreciated.
