GRAEBER, Marga
Surrounded by the love of her family at Fairmount Home, Marga Graeber, (nee Forster), on Tuesday, January 14th, 2020 in her 93rd year. Born in Bremen, Germany she was predeceased by her loving husband Wolfgang and was the last and longest lived of 8 sisters and brothers. Marga was the beloved mother of Birgit (Hamish) and Karen (Jacques). Cherished Oma to Andrew (Amy), Tim (Erin), Caitlin (Troy) and Daniel (Nicole). Much loved Uber Oma to Alexander, Abigail, Archimedes, Isla, Anna, Jack and Henry. She also leaves behind many loved nieces and nephews in Bremen and Munich.
A kindly and gentle spirit who possessed a unique and colorful personality, Marga was active in her earlier years with the United Church Women (UCW) in Valleyfield, Quebec. She was an avid bridge player and her passion was gardening. She loved all animals, especially her birds. Marga settled happily in Kingston, Ontario over thirty years ago to be closer to family.
She was devoted to her daughters and family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her passing is an irreplaceable loss to family and friends who will miss her dearly.
The family extends their sincere and heartfelt thanks to the staff at Fairmount Home and Heart to Heart Senior Services for their compassionate care of Marga in her final days.
A Memorial Reception will be held at the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION CENTRE, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, Kingston, on Sunday, January 26 between the hours of 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm with Words of Remembrance spoken at 3:00 pm. (Please enter the Reception Centre from the rear parking lot). As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation or MS Society of Canada, in Mrs. Graeber’s memory.
