Obituary
Young, Lynanne Nina – passed away peacefully on June 29, 2020, at the age of 73.
Lynanne was born Lynanne Nina Josephson on February 17, 1947. She was the second child to Frances and Abraham Josephson. Though her elder brother, Rick, has predeceased her she is survived and remembered by his widow (Daphne) and her five younger siblings: Ila, Ron (Berna), Ken (Lyse), Vala, and Doug (Sue). The Josephson family moved around BC somewhat in Lynanne’s youth but settled in Vancouver where Lynanne attended Windermere and Vancouver Tech High Schools.
Lynanne married Paul Roy Young in 1971 and had two daughters: Michelle and Christina. She spent the rest of her life living in Port Coquitlam taking every opportunity to travel and enjoy the company of her friends, family, and neighbours. When her daughter, Christina, married she added her husband, Peter, and four grandchildren to the family. The grandchildren (Peter, Madelyn, Caroline, and Amelia) were the joy of her life and recent years were scheduled around regular visits with them.
Lynanne loved being with her children, at home, when they were young. As time passed she started working at The Hudson’s Bay Co where she made life-long friendships she maintained after retiring. Anyone who called themselves a friend of Lynanne’s knows that they were blessed to have her in their life, and that her care for her friends, her laugh and sense of humour, and her love for her family were always apparent.
Lynanne survived a bout of cancer in 2010 but when she was diagnosed, again, in March 2020 with cancer this battle was one she could not win. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Terry Fox Foundation, or Eagle Ridge Hospital. As covid-19 restrictions are still in place the family will not be holding a public service at this time.
Lynanne was loved for her caring nature, excellent humour, and infectious laugh. She and Paul lived happily all of the days of their marriage and set a standard for loving relationships for all who knew them. She will be missed, every day.
