Lucille Blinn
March 09, 1923 – March 06, 2020
BLINN, Lucille –
Passed away peacefully on Friday, March 6, 2020 in The Meadows Home for Special Care, Yarmouth just days before her 97th birthday. Lucille spent her entire life in her native community of Church Point. She then resided at Au Logis d’Meteghan in her time of need during her later years.
Born in Church Point, she was a daughter of the late William and Marie Rose (Robichaud) Flynn.
Lucille was a strong, independent woman who did not want to disturb others, even learning to drive when she became a widow. There was a constant flow of people dropping off and picking up sewing projects for the self-taught seamstress. Whether casually or formally, Lucille cared for more children than her grandchildren, so much so that she was known as Grand-mère Blinn.
She is survived by daughter, Louise (Edmond) Comeau, Meteghan; brother, Willie Flynn, Church Point; sister, Marguerite Melanson, Emo, Ontario; grandchildren, Tina (Sean), Timmy (Yvelle), Brian (Dawn); great-grandchildren, Christophe, Gabriel, Simon, Laurène, Ariane, Christopher, Jenna.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward; brothers, Normand, Larry, Raymond; sister, Therese.
Cremation has taken place under the care of Meteghan Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held Tuesday, March 10, at 2 p.m. in Stella Maris Church, Meteghan, officiated by Rev. Albeni d’Entremont. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Church Point. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
