Linda Mary MacLean
1947-2020
It is with profound
sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Mary MacLean (Mosher) at
the age of 73 on Thursday, August 27th 2020.
She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, god mother,
mother-in-law, sister-in-law and aunt. She was a daughter of
the late William and Hazel (Newcombe) Mosher. Mom lovingly
worked side by side with dad for 15 years at Lawtons Drugs, Sheet
Harbour. Mom beat the odds many times over the past 20 plus
years with her health issues. There were many times we thought the end
was near but she always mustered the strength to beat the odds and
carry on. Her strength was incredible. She had the strength of super
woman. The last year and a half has been extremely difficult, but Dad
was true to his vows and was there in sickness and in health. Without
Dad there would be no Mom. He was her rock and Mom loved him
dearly. They were the couple who still held hands after 50
years of marriage. The love Mom had for her family, her love of life
and her pure determination to live was awe inspiring. And if
you knew Mom, you know that not once in her 73 years did she ever have
a cross or unkind word to say about anyone. She was truly an angel on
earth. You could search forever and never find a more kind,
thoughtful, generous, loving, giving, and pure of heart
person. She saw the good in everyone.
Mom also
loved our countless number of trips to Disney World. She was an
honorary Disney Vacation Club member of Saratoga Springs
Resort. She proudly wore her Saratoga Springs jacket, and it
is one of the many mementos we will have cremated with her.
Mom also loved our Vegas trips. Mom loved Vegas even more
when we supplied the gambling money! We treasured the many vacations
we had with Mom and Dad over the years. The memories we have
will last a lifetime. Vacations were always better when we had them
with us. They weren’t only our travelling companions
– they were our everything. Life will never be the same
without Mom. This is a devastating loss for Dad and our
entire family. We will miss her to infinity and beyond. Her sister
Jeannie will also feel a profound loss. Mom and Jeannie would talk for
hours on end every day. We constantly wondered how they never ran out
of things to talk about. They had an extremely close bond
that even death cannot break. While we cannot imagine a life
without Mom in it, I would like to think Mom is in heaven looking down
on us with a nice hot cup of tea in one hand, and a yummy in the
other. She so enjoyed a good yummy!
She is
survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Don MacLean; her daughter,
Susan (Kelly); her son, DJ (Jennifer); her granddaughter, Rebecca; her
siblings, Kenny (Norma), Billy (Mary), Jeannie (Paul); her
goddaughter, Alishea and numerous nieces and nephews. She
will also be missed by her beloved fur baby Apple (aka Dolly) and many
furry grandkids. We would like to thank all the Doctors, VON
nurses and the palliative care team at Truro Colchester East Hants
Health Centre. Special thanks to Dr. Kinnear, Mom’s family doctor and
VON nurse Marie Lewis who took such good care of Mom.
