The family of Linda Joan Scott (Chivers) announce her sudden passing on December 24, 2020. Linda was born in Orillia, ON on January 19, 1955, the youngest and only daughter to Murray and Mary Chivers. Linda lived her life spread all across the western provinces, working in the retail industry which was no doubt influenced by her love of people. Linda settled in Saskatchewan where she received the nickname “Mama”, from her friends and family, this nickname later would become “O Canada Grandma” to which her grandchildren still call her. Warm weather, gardening, good times with friends, fishing at Lake of the Prairies, family get togethers, cooking and eating, were some of Linda’s favorite things in life. One of her most cherished memories was being at a Bryan Adams concert in Red Deer, AB. Cocoa, a chocolate point Siamese cat was Linda’s companion for many years. Although Cocoa passed long ago, a picture still hung in Linda’s room until her passing. Appearance was of utmost importance to Linda, not wanting to drink out of a glass for fear it would cause lipstick “smiles”. Linda will be remembered by her son Damien (Kelly) Gabriel, grandchildren Kayley, Kira and Donovan. Brothers Larry (Janet) Chivers, and Glenn Chivers, as well as numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
A private family service to be held at a later date.
