Linda Ann Campbell Finnie Brooks 19452020

It is with eternal
love that we sent Linda Ann (Campbell) Finnie, Brooks, peacefully on
her journey to Spirit World on October 30th,
2020. She had spent her last few days in the Intensive Care
Unit (ICU) at the DECH, struggling with lung and heart issues that her
body was no longer strong enough to recover
from.
Linda was born to loving parents, Doug and Emily
(Clark) Campbell of Staples Settlement, NB, 75 years ago on April
28th, 1945. She was the youngest of
their six children. In addition to her parents, Linda is
predeceased by the father of her children, Jerry Finnie; special
grandson, Michael Finnie; brother-in-law, Lue Chamberlin; and
son-in-law, Tom
Solomon.
She is survived by and will be forever in the hearts
of her three children; Tim Finnie (Wanda), Cindy Francis, and Tina
Solomon; brothers Percy (Betty), Keith (Cristal), Gordon (Pat)
Campbell; sisters Shirley Marie Chamberlain and Mary (Jack)
McKinnon. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces
and nephews.
Linda dearly loved her grandchildren; Tracey (David)
Kirkpatrick, Austin (Kaley) Paul, Jenny Paul (Aaron), Dillon Francis
(Cera), Doug (Janet) Finnie, Tanya (Noelie) Millier, Tom (Kelsey)
Solomon, Chad Solomon (Tawnni), and Ryan (Tiffany)
Savoie.
She referred to her great grandchildren as her
« Tiny pockets of gold », and loved to boast about how
beautiful and smart they all are. Daisy, Aura, Abby,
Kristina, Caroline, Layla, Hailey, Austin (Charm), (Holden &
Evander – great great grandchildren), Mallory, Triton,
Dalton, Declan, Carson, Thayowyn, and
Madelyn.
Linda worked as a memorable waitress for
many years at Keddy’s Motor Inn and
the Silverwood Motel restaurants, where she gathered
numerous friends. Linda retired as a Personal Home Care
Worker, caring for seniors in Kingsclear First Nation was one of her
proudest accomplishments. She loved talking with people and
was a skilled « Story-Teller ». She enjoyed
playing Radio Bingo and was a big fan of Country music. Some
of her favourites were Alan Jackson, Brooks and
Dunn, George Jones, Conway and Loretta and Marty Stewart, whom she
raved about meeting when he was a young boy on Lester
Flatt’s tour bus. That story was repeated many
times over the years, but everyone knew that Elvis was King in her
world. Linda’s
local favourite was Joey Knight, whom she loved so
much that she kept a framed picture of him on her
dresser.
Linda spent her last nine months at
Wik-Cihpolakon Senior Home in Kingsclear First
Nation. We sincerely want to thank all of the staff for
their excellent care. In addition, we remain in awe of the
doctors and nurses of the ICU who demonstrated the utmost compassion
and dedication to her care until the very end, especially nurses Mel
& Marlee.
Due to COVID restrictions, there will be no
visitation. Bishops Funeral Home will be responsible for all
arrangements should you wish to offer condolences to the
family. Donations can be made to the Staples Settlement
Cemetery Fund or a charity of the donor’s choice in lieu of
flowers. A private graveside service will take place at
Staples Settlement Cemetery on Saturday, November
7th at 3:00pm for the family, where we
will share some stories of her unique expressions, laugh at some of
her tallest tales, and reminisce about how much we love her.
