Obituary of Lily Barber
Passed peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, October 19, 2020 at the age of 94. Waiting for her with open arms are her beloved husband Lyle, sons Larry and Lynn, and daughter Marie (Randy). Lil will be lovingly remembered by her children Myrna (late Connie), Donna (Keith), Terry (Gwen), and Travis (Trish). She will be missed dearly by her grandchildren Tammy (Bob), Teresa (Steven), Manda (Mike), Cory (Melissa), Trisha (Aaron), Allan (Juanita), Marcus (Allison), Kevin, Trevor (Amber), Derek (Brittany), Emily (Tiger), and Taylor (Hanah), and her great grandchildren Molly, Jessie, Brooke, Colby, Mayson, Dean, Eva, Kent, Lyle, Mitchell, Hillary, Ayla, Jack, and Jemma. Predeceased by her parents Mary and Albert Maitland, and missed by her siblings, nieces and nephews. She was always glad to have a visitor and wanted everyone to sit down and stay awhile. She was always “A-1” whenever anyone asked how she was doing. She didn’t have or need many worldly possessions to make her happy. Besides some licorice, a Pepsi, and plenty of yarn for knitting, all she really wanted was the love of her family. A graveside service will take place at Desbarats Cemetery with Pastor Craig Rankin officiating. Memorial donations to the Calvary Baptist Church would be appreciated. A special thank you to the nurses, doctors, and staff in ICU at Sault Area Hospital for their loving care of Lily and her family. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
