Lillian was born on April 16, 1932 in Lang, SK. She attended school in Lang. She met her future husband at a dance and fell in love. Lillian and Don McKim from Riceton, SK. were married on October 22, 1949. She was an active member in the Riceton community with curling, bonspiels, sports days, hosting Bunco nights and many other activities within the community. She was an avid gardener and loved her flowers. She canned and preserved the garden vegetables. She sewed and enjoyed arts and crafts. During most of her married life, until retirement, she worked tirelessly pitching in to assist in the operations of the family farm while raising a family and managing the household. Many remember the large family suppers she cooked over the years, her baking and her homemade Angel Food Birthday cakes with money hidden inside. In keeping with Lillian‘s wishes, a private family gathering will be held at a later date at her final resting place in Victoria, BC. In honour of Lillian’s love of animals, donations may be made to the Humane Society in Lillian’s name.
