1922-2020
Leverett Steeves of Riverview passed away on September 12,
2020 at the Veterans’ Health Centre. Born in Moncton, he was the son
of the late Kenneth and Clara (Keith) Steeves. Leverett was a member
of the Royal Canadian Air Force and veteran of WWII. He retired from
CN as Car Load Manager at the Moncton Hump Yard following a 40-year
career. He was a member of Riverview Baptist Church and former member
and past Master of Coverdale Lodge #52 F&AM.
He will be dearly missed by his loving
wife Winifred (Sherwood); sons Ron (Judy) of Fredericton and Brian
(Martha) of Riverview, daughter-in-law Phyllis Steeves Barton;
grandchildren: Colin, Lynden (Krista), Dr. Tanya (Bradley) Wood, Kirk
(Christine) and Bruce (Carol); great-grandchildren: Alex, Kait,
Brendan, Trinten, Breanna, Olivia, Jaden and Jaxson;
great-great-grandchildren: Addisyn and Declan; as well as several
nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Leverett was predeceased by a
granddaughter Melanie; brothers Francis, Chester, Hubert, Austin and
Vincent; and sisters Mildred, Marguerite and Paula.
The family will be receiving relatives and
friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330
Whitepine Rd., Riverview (869-2007) on Tuesday, September 15, 2020
from 4:00pm to 5:30pm (for seniors 65 and over) and 5:30pm to 7:00pm
(for the general public). A private funeral service will take place
the following day. Donations can be made to a charity of the
donor’s choice.
