Leslie A. Gray of Millbank, NB passed away at his residence on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at the age of 96.
Born in Chatham, NB, he was the oldest son of Alexander and Bertha (Russell) Gray. He was a veteran of WW11 serving with the 4th Light Antiaircraft and 13th Field Regiments in Europe. Leslie worked in the woods, at Miramichi Propane, and Burchill’s Plywood Mill.
Leslie is survived by his loving wife, Mary (Shea) Gray of almost 67 years, daughter Susan & son-in-law Wayne Simpson of Miramichi, granddaughter Terri Lynn (Gene) Thompson of Brighton ON, twin great granddaughters Harper and Brynn Thompson, twin step-great granddaughters Kasey (Zachary) and their daughters Georgia and Penelope and Kelsey (Zach) Thompson.
He is also survived by brother-in-law Douglas (Peggy) Shea of Garson, ON, sister-in-law Sandra Shea of Miramichi, NB and several nieces and nephews.
Les was the last surviving member of the family and was predeceased by his sister Elizabeth (Bessie) Steeves and brothers Ellis and Eldon Gray.He was also predeceased by his stillborn son, Edward.
A Graveside service will be held on Friday at 11 am at Moorefield Cemetery with Reverend Jean Herman officiating.
