Leona was Born January 13, 1947, the oldest daughter of Oscar and Mabel Burns. Leona is a direct third generation of the Smith family.
Leona was married to Delbert Brittain on April 28, 1965. She raised four daughters and two sons.
Leona has contributed to the JSCN as a homemaker, Bus driver, just recently until retired a tutor for BCCS. She taught a lot of students to read and learn math. Her students always came up to her and gave her a hug and called her gramma. God Bless those thankful students.
She enjoyed teaching her square dance group for the Fine Arts Festival. Her wish was to see them dance one more time. She was so proud of them.
Many people and friends enjoyed her company. She was good natured, kind caring, sociable and had an unconditional love for her family who she devoted her life to.
