Leon’s Obituary
SINCLAIR, Leon – age 80, Yarmouth, formerly of Victoria, BC, passed away at home on Thursday, June 11, 2020. Born in Copenhagen, Denmark on September 27, 1939, he was a son of the late Ludwig and Inger Jensen. Leon was a hairdresser and a professional photographer. He was also very accomplished in the sport of fencing, having competed and won the title of Scandinavian champion and having also competed in the World Fencing Championships. Throughout their 58 years of married life, he and his wife Mette lived in Denmark, Australia, Sweden and Canada. He was a loving and devoted husband, a great dad and a fantastic grandpa. Aside from his wife, Mette (née Thykier-Hansen) Sinclair, he is survived by three children, Kenneth Sinclair, Victoria, BC; Charlotte (Niklas) Petrone, Yarmouth and Robert (Summer) Sinclair, Victoria, BC, as well as by six grandchildren, a great grandson and a sister, Marianne (Hendrik), Copenhagen. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Annie Bower and a brother, Jørgen Jensen. In accordance with the family’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth, where a private service will take place at a later date.
