With heavy hearts the family of Leon Nowacki announces his passing on July 25 at the age of 90.
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Genevieve (Rajca); children Wanda, Francine (Nick), Mary Ann (Frank); very proud grandfather of Jennifer (Jeremy), Michael (Meghan), Alyssa (Laurie), Steven (Marylene), and Tyler; great grandchildren Evan and Malcolm; sisters Pearl (Anthony, deceased) and Mary (Eddy, deceased); loved brother-in-law to Stephany (Henry, deceased), Helen and Jane; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
Born in Poland, immigrated to Canada to join his sisters in 1948. Was a devoted employee of CN Rail for 35 years and had been happily retired since 1990. A long standing member of The Polish War Veterans Society of Marshal J. Pilsudski for 64 years.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, only a private family funeral will be held at this time. A Celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
The family wishes to send a special Thank You to the staff at Pierre-Boucher Hospital for their care and compassion.
