Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden death of Leo Joseph McIvor of Saint John, NB, which occurred on Saturday, December 26th, 2020. Born in Saint John on March 8th, 1961, he was the son of the late Raymond and Alfreda (Jaillet) McIvor. Leo was employed with various companies which included the Riviera Rest, Windjammer Rest and Jani King. He also did Security at the SJRH and NBCC, where he retired his position to become caregiver to his wife and sister-in-law. Leo enjoyed playing crib with his wife, bowling, singing karaoke and back yard parties. Leo had a heart of gold when it came to helping others, giving donations to auctions for friends, calling all for help with this if needed and asked for nothing in return. He was forever looking on the internet for the next person to help. He was a die-hard Toronto Maple Leafs fan and could be found cheering on the games and teasing all who were not Toronto fans. His love, respect and dedication to his family will not only live on in the memories of spending time with his children and grandchildren, and his internet jokes, will live on in our hearts forever.
Leo is survived by his son Michael McIvor (Starr) and daughter Nicole McIvor (Andre) all of Saint John; sisters Patricia Caissie (Bernie) of Moncton, Joanne Breau (Rheal) of Grand Barachois, Carol McNair (David) and Beverley Szemerda (Dan) all of Saint John; brothers Ron McIvor (Sharon) and Rick McIvor (Anne) all of Saint John; grandchildren Taylor, Zack, Dakota, Dylan & Maya; great-grandson Cole; step-children Jamie (Patsy), Timmy, Jeff (Darlene), Ricky, Tammy & Tanya all of Saint John; sister-in-law Sandra; as well as several step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Along with his parents, Leo was predeceased by his loving wife Laura and his sister Joanne Lena McIvor.
