Lenora Madore
1933-2020
Following a lengthy illness, Lenora Joan Madore of McLaughlin, NB,
passed away peacefully at Hotel Dieu St. Joseph Hospital on December
6, 2020.
Lenora was born in Anfield, NB, on September 19, 1933. She was the
daughter of the late Maylon and Helen (Ashworth) Tompkins. Lenora
leaves behind her loving husband, Joseph Madore; her daughter, Joyce
Burgoyne (Vincent) of Perth-Andover, NB; her son, Michael Madore
(Lara) of Lethbridge, AB; her grandchildren, Matthew Madore, Nicole
Madore, Logan Madore, Alexander Burgoyne, and Danielle Burgoyne; her
sister, Ruth Hebert of Plaster Rock, NB; her brother, Clement Tompkins
(Madeline) of Anfield, NB; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Ellen Tilley, Dorothy
Burgoyne, and Edna Hebert; her brothers, Roy, Herb, Perley, Lawrence,
and Willard Tompkins.
Lenora will be remembered as been a very hard worker. She was a
fabulous cook and kept a spotless house. She enjoyed gardening and
always had an immaculate garden every year. She also enjoyed knitting
and embroidering among her favorite pastimes.
Respecting Lenora’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral
service held. A graveside service will be held at Linton Corner
Cemetery at a later date.
For those who wish, memorial donations to the Linton Corner Cemetery
or the Upper Valley Autism Resource Center would be appreciated by the
family.
Lenora’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the
staff of the Extra-Mural Program and to Dr. Larry Kennedy for the care
provided to her over the years. They also wish to thank the staff at
Hotel Dieu St. Joseph Hospital, including housekeeping, dietary, and
the nurses for all they have done for Lenora during her stay at the
hospital.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home,
Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock, NB.
