Pryor, Larry
Larry passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at the C.K.H.A.- Chatham Campus at the age of 80.
He was born in Chatham and was the loving son of the late Louis and Blanche (nee Braxton) Pryor.
He was the youngest and the last of his 7 brothers and sisters.
Beloved brother of the late Madeline, Clyde, Margaret, Louis, Lloyd, Laretta, Claudine and Blanche.
Sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Rose.
He will always be remembered for his infectious laugh, the ability to bring a smile to everyone that he came in contact with and the “Larry Shuffle”.
He was a member of the Legion Branch 642, where he participated on the shuffleboard team and euchre teams.
During the time of roller skating at the Kinsmen Auditorium we were expected to follow the rules because Larry was the Bouncer (and we did!).
Illness had made his world considerably smaller, however he had formed strong connections with his P.S.W. Dialysis Nurses and his C.H.A.P. drivers.
What a homegoing…with all his family welcoming him on a different plane.
A private family Funeral will be held at the Kendrick Funeral Home-Chatham Celebration Centre, 4 Victoria Avenue, Chatham, ON, with Rev. Tracy Thomas, officiating.
Burial to follow in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
Larry’s Funeral Service will be streamlined on Facebook at Kendrick Funeral Home Ltd. On Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 1 p.m.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Donations in memory of Larry to the Chatham-Kent Black Historical Society would be appreciated by the family.
Online condolences may be left at Kendrickfuneralhome.com
