Obituary of Kenneth Frederick Dobson
DOBSON, KENNETH FREDERICK
The passing of Kenneth Frederick Dobson of Taymouth, NB, occurred on April 2, 2020 at the Veterans Health Unit in Fredericton, NB. Born on December 31, 1932 in Oromocto, NB, he was a son of the late John W. and Jessie (Lewis) Dobson. Kenneth worked as a Mechanic in the Canadian Armed Forces for 30 years until his retirement in 1982 as a Chief Warrant Officer in Ottawa, ON. After his retirement from the Military, he and his wife moved to Indonesia where he worked as Chief Maintenance Planner for PT Inco for 4 years before returning to his beloved New Brunswick woods. He was a 60-year member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Normandy Branch #78, Boiestown, NB.
Kenneth is survived by his son, Jeffrey Dobson (Cara Greenlaw) of Grand Manan; sister; Stella Lewis (Freeman) of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Dorothy Mavis Dobson; sisters, Viola, Freda, Eva, Edith and Shirley; brothers, Paul, Roscoe, George and James.
Arrangements are under the care of York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton. At Kenneth’s request, there will be no visitation or service at this time. Interment will take place in Astle Community Cemetery, Astle, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
