Kenneth Joseph Sawyer
1941-2020
Kenneth Joseph Sawyer, 78, of Stoney Creek passed away
unexpectedly at his home on September 2, 2020. Kenneth was
born in Rexton on September 25, 1941 the son of the late Cyrille and
Antoinette (Roy) Sawyer.
Ken worked as a Heavy Equipment mechanic for the Rexton
Garage and the City of Moncton before his retirement. He was
also a farmer and he loved the farm life. He had a special
place in his heart for animals and had many critters on his farm from
chickens, cattle, goats and pigs. He could do anything he
set his mind to and was a jack of all trades. If
anything needed fixing he was your man and he did it with a
smile. Ken was known for playing his fiddle, he enjoyed
music and getting together with his family and friends around the
kitchen table for a real down home kitchen party. Ken was a
quiet man with a heart of gold who would help anyone in need and was
always ready with a helping hand. He loved his family very
much and left many great memories to cherish. « Those we
love don’t go away, they walk beside us everyday, unseen, unheard but
always near. »
He will be deeply missed by his wife and best friend,
Margaret Sawyer; his daughter, Carrie Sawyer Cornell (Larry) all of
Stoney Creek; sister, Laura LeBlanc (Ernie) of Moncton and brother,
Garnet Sawyer (Irene) of Rexton. He will also be missed by nieces,
nephews and all his extended family and friends.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers, Melvin
and Ron; sister, Theresa.
Honoring Ken’s own wishes there will be no visitation or
funeral service.
For those who wish donations in his memory to
the charity of the donor’s choice would be
appreciated.
