Obituary
After a lengthy battle with cancer, Ken Neumann passed away on September 30, 2020 in Pincher Creek, AB surrounded by his family at the age of 77.
Ken was born on August 18, 1943 in Pincher Creek, AB, to father Gus Neumann and mother Sylvia (née Murphy) Neumann. He grew up in a loving family with brother, Jay (Sheila) Neumann and sister Kerry. He worked on the family farm in his very early years. He moved from Pincher Creek to Chilliwack, then to Barrier. Ken met Elise Pauls while she was in nurses training in Kamloops when he was visiting his dad at this hospital. They married in 1967. They moved around from Granum, Coalhurst, and back to Pincher Creek. Along the way they had their three children: Patrick, Michael and Valerie. Ken became a Master Electrician (1980) and eventually owned and operated Beeken Electric and Radio Shack/The Source with his wife, Elsie. Throughout the years, he developed a love of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and served as Alberta president in 1999-2000. He also enjoyed camping, travelling to Mexico and Arizona, and salmon fishing off of Vancouver Island with Pat, Sue, and friends.
He leaves behind his wife, Elsie; his daughter, Valerie (Kory) Irwin, her sons Cole and Hunter; his son Michael (Tracy) Neumann, his children Thomas (Payton) and Madison; his son, Patrick (Sue) Neumann, and his daughters Shianne (Nolan) and Kiana; as well as his sister Kerry (Allan) Miller-Mitchell and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother Jay.
There will be a Private Memorial Service on Friday, October 9, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. All are invited to attend the service via live streaming. The live streaming link will be available on this page. Following the Service, Ken’s ashes will be interred in Fairview Cemetery.
The family would especially like to thank the Staff and Doctors of the Pincher Creek Hospital, as well as the Staff of Pincher Creek Emergency Services for the caring and support in his final days.
