Kathleen ‘Kaye’ Hooper
Mary Kathleen « Kaye » Hooper (Fullerton) (Langille),
passed away at the Aberdeen Hospital on September 28, 2020 in New
Glasgow, Nova Scotia. She is survived by brother, Floyd Fullerton
(Judi); son, Colin Ellsworth Langille (Yvan), daughter, Marjorie
Rosealee Langille, son, Gregory Leonard Langille (Sandy), son, Jeffrey
Charles Langille (Fay); daughter-in-law, Janice Langille;
grandchildren, Laura Langille, Leanne Langille, Gina Thompson, Mark
Thompson, Morgan Langille, Gavin Langille; step-grandchildren, Kendra
Bernard, Luke Bernard; 14 great grandchildren; 3 step-great
grandchildren, and several nieces and
nephews.
She was predeceased by her
1st husband, Roland A. Langille (died
May 20, 1980) and by her 2 nd husband
Cpt. Robert F. Hooper (died March
7, 2005), and eldest son Roland
« Wayne » Langille (died Oct. 27, 2018), sister, Jean Godden
(Dr. Jack), sister, Marjorie Fraser (John).
Kaye was born in Lyons Brook, N.S., the eldest daughter, to
Leonard Fullerton and Mary (Heighton) where she grew up on the family
farm. She spoke kindly of skating to school with her sisters and her
many chores. She was a graduate of Pictou Academy. Kaye married and
moved to Tatamagouche, N.S., where she raised her family. In 1960 the
family moved to Port Hawkesbury, Cape Breton, N.S., where she was
involved with the auxiliary of the United Church and had many friends.
Kaye was a loving mother and a caring person with a generous heart.
She worked at Esso, Woolworths, the Port Hawkesbury Motel, and the
Wandyln Motel. She and her late husband Bob enjoyed 24 years as
Floridian snow birds.
A public graveside will take place at 1pm on Friday, in
Heatherdale Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Donna Tourneur officiating.
Those attending are asked to practise social distancing and wearing a
mask is encouraged. Donations to be made to the Trinity United Church
or the Aberdeen Health Foundation, New Glasgow,
NS.
