WOODS, Kathleen Frances
Kathleen Frances Woods (nee Boddy) passed away peacefully on December 8 at the age of 97. She was born and educated in Yorkshire England. She was a WREN (WRNS) in the British Royal Navy during WW II and was stationed at Greenwich, London, and other posts in the UK. Kathleen met and married Jack Woods who was a Flt Lt with the RCAF stationed in Yorkshire where they were married in 1944. She sailed to Canada in 1945 on her own and they settled in Hamilton after the war. She was the beloved mother of Suzanne, Kate, Paul and Virginia. She was Nana to Sarah, Erik, Liam, Lucas, Jennifer, Alaina, Brent, David and Johnathan and Great-Nana to Gwyn, Liam, Gabe, Charlotte and Quinn. She was a special aunt to Cindy Allen, a favourite sister -in- law of Marguerite Bradford and mother-in-law to Tom , Ani and Murray. Kathleen is survived by her brother John Boddy of England. She was predeceased by parents, Frances Jane and Thomas William Boddy and husband Jack Woods. She was a long standing member of Stanley Avenue and Westside Baptist churches. Kathleen had a Yorkshire wit which was with her to the end. She was full of spunk and joy. She was a model of how to age gracefully and had a fabulous and determined sense of style and fashion. Her love for the Blue Jays, Maple Leafs and Tiger Cats made you smile. She was unique and won’t be forgotten. Private family services will be held. Memorial donations made in memory of Kathleen to The War Amps would be greatly appreciated. Please sign the on line Book of Condolences www.baygardens.ca
