Karen Barbara Harrison (nee Leaker) went home to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday December 23, 2020 at the age of 75. Karen was the beloved wife and sweetheart of Cam for 49 years. Loving mother of Cavan (Jennifer) Harrison and Khera (Michael) Bell. Cherished and devoted grandmother of Owen and Morgan Bell. Predeceased by her parents Richard and Elsie Leaker. Survived by her siblings Anita Leaker (Alma Gibbons), Dixie (Joe) Cummins, Paul (Rosanne) Leaker, and Robynne Leaker as well as brothers and sisters-in-law (late) Verna (late Carl) Hunt, (late) Mae (late Jack) Cowman, (late) George (survived by Patricia) Harrison, (late) Lloyd (late Donna) Harrison, (late) Iris (survived by Tom) Downton, Joy (late John) Strecker, Pauline (Cherian) Thachenkary and Dawn (Steve) Tynan. Karen will also be remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Karen always fondly remembered her 30 years living in Springvale, ON raising her family and cultivating many friendships. She enjoyed her time as a French teacher working for the Department of Indian Affairs in Ohsweken, ON. The move to Lindsay, ON ten years ago allowed her to be a part of the lives of her grandchildren and that brought her tremendous joy. The family would like to thank the staff at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, ON for their care and compassion.
Following her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be arranged at a later date. If desired, charitable donations can be made in Karen’s honour to an organization of your choosing.
