Kammerer, Patricia Dianne ‘Pat’
Born in Meaford on November 30, 1942, daughter of the late Douglas and Ellen (nee Bowins) Wade, Pat passed away peacefully at her home in Horning’s Mills, Ontario with family by her side on Friday, January 10, 2020 at the age of 77.
Pat leaves behind her devoted husband, Horst, who tirelessly cared for her during her illness. She will be forever missed by her daughter, Michelle Eissler-Hollmann (Peter), and stepchildren Michele Kammerer (Chris Jeans) and Anita Burnett (Darryl). She was the loving grandmother of Grace, Bridgett, Evelyn, Rylan, Tegan, Trebecca, Joel, Logan, Lucas, and Jaden. She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Bob Wade (Gayle), Marlyn Hudson (Tony) Don Wade (Vera), Mary Ellen Thiffault (Mike), Nancy Schope (Ken), and Jean Loucks (Dave). She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Leaving the town of Meaford for the big city, Pat worked for Bell Canada for over 30 years as an operator and then later as a Sales and Service Representative. An adventurous spirit, her love of travel and arts and culture was especially the focus of her later years with Horst as they explored many countries and continents such as China and Africa. She always enjoyed the company of her family and many friends as she spent time visiting and hosting get-togethers. She will be remembered as a fun grandma for her sense of humour and the way she could make the kids laugh. She spent her time fishing and boating at the cottage in Ville Marie during the summer, and socializing on Little Gasparilla Island in Florida for the winter. She always tried to live life to the fullest and appreciate each day. Her vivacious spirit and appetite for life will be well remembered by all who knew her.
A private service will be conducted at the Ferguson Funeral Home in Meaford with interment following at Lakeview Cemetery. A celebration of Pat’s life will take place at her home in Horning’s Mills at a later date.
