Obituary of Joyce Marie Leger
The family of Joyce Marie Leger is saddened to announce her passing on December 23, 2020 at the Dr Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton. Joyce was born on January 2, 1936 to the late Stanley and Bessie (Chisholm) Flynn. She is survived by her husband, Donald Leger; her sisters, Linda Fenwick (Jim) and Sheila Bartlett (Jim).
Joyce is also survived by her children, Charlene Leger Barron, Robert (Janice) and Michael Leger. “Grammie Joyce” will be missed by her grandchildren, Richelle Hudson, Jennifer and Timothy Noble and their spouses; great-grandchildren, Brody and Kaylin Hudson, Gavin Yeo and Ainslee Noble; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her sister, Ina MacFadzen; and brother, Richard “Rick” Flynn.
Family was of the utmost importance to Mom. She loved every opportunity to have her family together, celebrating special occasions and hosting family dinners and BBQs. Christmas was Mom’s favorite holiday. She looked forward to seeing the excitement in the kids and spending quality time with family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of York Funeral Home. At Joyce’s request there will be no public visitation or service at this time. Interment will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the IWK or a charity of the donor’s choice.
