Obituary of Joyce Breeze
Joyce passed away peacefully with her loving husband Don by her side, on Good Friday, April 10, 2020, at Errinrung Long Term Care Home in Thornbury. Born in Sullivan Township, Ontario, on December 29, 1944, Joyce Irene Breeze (née Thompson), was in her 76th year.
Beloved wife and best friend of Don Breeze of RR#3 Chatsworth. Loving mother of Marlene Reed (Terry) of Peterborough, Bonnie Berc (Shaun) of Burlington, Daniel Breeze (Adrienne) of Switzerland, and Christa Primas (Paul) of Vernon, BC. Cherished Grandma of Alexander Reed, Joshua, Jacob, Carter and Noah Berc, and Siena Breeze. Also missed by her siblings, Jean Playter of Kingston, June Benedict (Frank) of Abbotsford, BC, Jim Thompson (Linda) of Atwood, and her siblings-in-law, Kenneth Breeze (Ruth) of Kitchener, and Cath Erickson (Dave) of Calgary. Predeceased by her parents Melville and Myrtle (née Hill) Thompson, and her brother John Thompson.
Joyce was a gifted gardener who nurtured spectacular gardens and grew and cared for the most beautiful flowers. She was a talented chef and baker and was famous for her “Mom Recipe” carrot cake among her many popular recipes and dishes.
A private graveside service is being held at Desboro Cemetery and a celebration of Joyce’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario would be appreciated.
