Obituary of John Scott McGoldrick
At home on Sunday, December 13, 2020, Scott passed away peacefully in his sleep following a courageous battle with lung cancer. Survived by his wife, Calna. Scott was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Edith McGoldrick. Cherished and loved brother of Laurie and lifelong best friend to Dan Currie. At Scott’s request there will be no public service or visitation. From the onset, Scott was adamant that there be no « pity » party – have a drink, catch a fish, or watch a football game in his honour and toast to a life well-lived. He will be missed. Many thanks to « Nurse Amy » for her visits to St. Joseph Island which allowed Scott to fish and enjoy the water over the past summer, Dr. Nicole Apostle for her compassion and to the nurses at Bayshore who assisted him through his final days at his home on Hugill Street. Scott also wanted to thank his cousin, Deborah McGoldrick, for her telephone guidance from Thunder Bay and the friends who visited and called throughout his last months to offer encouragement and support. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
