John went to meet his Lord and Saviour in the afternoon of January 27, 2020.
John was born April 9, 1940 to Bernhard and Helena (Teichroeb) Petkau.
He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife of 57 years, Verna (nee Adrian); his three daughters: Brenda (Robert) Newman and their children, Melissa (Andrew) Dunbar, Chris (Molly) Neufeldt, Amber (Don) Wall, Ashley (Walker) Bint, Kaitlanne Newman and Meaghan Newman; Sandra (Joe) Dasiuk and their children, Jaden (Yimeng), Janaya, and Addison; Patricia (John) Currie and their children, Kirstin, Jared, and Rachel; nine great-grandchildren; and his siblings: Kay Friesen, Ed (Lisa) Petkau, Hilda Rempel, Leona (Dave) Hawker, Alvena (Cliff) Jensen; sisters-in-law Maida Petkau, Peggie Petkau; brothers-in-law, Bill Richardson, Victor Adrian, Ivan (Bonnie) Adrian, Les (Barb) Adrian, and numerous nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by his parents, grandson Bryce Currie, sister and brother-in- law Mary and Lionel Nichols, brothers Peter Petkau and Ben Petkau, sister Eleanor Richardson, brothers-in-law Jake Friesen and Peter Rempel, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Joyce and Gary Enns, parents-in-law Isaac and Tena Adrian.
He will be missed dearly.
A celebration of life service will be on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Cornerstone Church, 315 Lenore Drive, Saskatoon, SK.
