June 22nd, 1942 – March 17th, 2020
It is with heartfelt sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Joe Cornforth, 77, in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Born in Bradford, England in 1942, son of the late Charles and Ada Cornforth (nee Whiticker) and step – mother Agnes Cornforth. Joe will be missed by his wife of 53 years, Bonnie Cornforth (McKenzie), daughter Jodi Coelho (Cesar) and grandsons Simon and Jack Coelho. He is survived by his brother in England, Jack Cornforth (Julie), brother in law David McKenzie (Esther) of London, On, and brother in law Jamie McKenzie (Laura) of Calgary, AB. Predeceased by his sister Carol Oxatby in England and brother in law John McKenzie of Parry Sound. Survived and loved by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Joe was an avid sailer, traveller, fisherman, he had a great love for water and adventure. Joe is a retiree from MSSC in Chatham and will also be missed by many co workers and friends. He was cremated in Mexico as were his wishes. Friends wishing to pay their respects to Joe are invited call the funeral home in advance to reserve a time on Tuesday August 25th, 2020 with visiting from 6 to 9 pm. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, you must schedule your visitation time in advance. All attendees as mandated by the Bereavement Authority of Ontario must wear a mask at all visitations and funerals. The funeral service for Joe will be streamed live from the funeral home on Wednesday August 26th, 2020 at 1 pm with Pastor Greg Simpson of St. Andrew’s United Church officiating.
