Jeanne Dearling
March 23, 1940 – December 02, 2020
Born on March 23, 1940 in Delft, The Netherlands to Johannes Franciscus Brakel and Adriana Maria Suzanna Brakel (née Versprille), Jeanne immigrated to Canada with her parents and 3 brothers Bob, Rene, and Raymond Brakel in 1950.
She was a dedicated single Mother who raised three wonderful daughters: Yvonne Hawke (Bradley Hawke), Debbie Marrocco (Geoff Crawford) and Cheryl Addison (Shawn Addison). She also leaves behind grandchildren: Kristina Marrocco (Leo Ienna), Bryon Hawke, Amanda Marrocco (Desi Accardo) and Steven Hawke (deceased 1999) as well as great grandchildren Milana and Marco Ienna.
Jeanne was admired by all who knew her for her strength, resilience and zest for life. At the age of 60, Jeanne became a Breast Cancer Survivor. Never to let anything get her down, she showed her determination and bravery a decade later when she power walked a ½ marathon at the age of 70. Jeanne took great pride in everything she did, from creating handmade pottery for friends and family to never forgetting to acknowledge a birthday or celebration with a handwritten card, those who were loved by her were never in doubt of her affection. It was always evident how important her friends and family were to her, and she never hesitated to go out of her way to show how much she cared. Her infectious smile could always light up a room and she was always able to find a way to laugh, even in the most difficult times. Jeanne’s laugh and positive spirit will be sorely missed by many but our memories of her will forever be cherished.
Jeanne’s life will be celebrated by close friends and family by invitation only due to Covid-19 restrictions.
