Jean-Pierre Lamoureux

It’s with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather, on Wednesday January 29th, 2020 at the age of 56.
Predeceased by his mother Helene and his father René. Jean-Pierre is surrounded by his wife Denise and his children Maxime, Andrea, Julien, Jasmine, Serena and Jacinthe. Grandchildren; Shad, Jake, Keena, Makayla, Tristan. His son-in-law Kyle, his only brother Simon and his wife and children, France, Helena and Laurence.
Even though he had family back home in Montreal, he never forgot them. When the internet became readily available, he was excited to be able to connect and watch them grow. Facebook and facetiming was the lifeline to them and him.
He was proud of all his children! When Max started working in construction and showing photos of the sites that max was working on. He would make time for his grandchildren and bring them to the park when he was back home. He had many favourite movies and T.V. shows.
He was very kind-hearted, very generous, always very sensitive man, as well as a very friendly funny man. JP was a jack of all trades, he did many Reno’s, and he fixed many cars and was the go-to guy. He wanted to be closer to his children; he participated in the Louis Riel School committee for 4 years. He also did anything possible to help them out, whether he knew the facts or not.
He always made everyone feel that you could confide in him about anything. He made many connections with other people outside his work. Those at Benders, Part source, prima auto and so forth. He was very knowledgeable about things he knew and always made room for growth, to learn new concepts and create new ideas.
He loved his life and all his personal accomplishments.
Personal History of J.P.
JP was born in LaSalle, Quebec. He met his wife Denise though a taxi driver friend by the name of Joe and played matchmaker. Denise was invited to JP’s house for supper. It was a long distant relationship at first until she decided to move to Quebec with her daughter Andrea.
Denise and Jean-Pierre decided to blend families in 1992, and then got married in 1993. After a year and a half, they decided to move to Winnipeg. After moving back and forth, they planted their routes in 1997, the year of the flood. JP started his career as a mail carrier at Canada Post in 1998. He went for his interview and soon enough found himself delivering packages. He met Andy Jason, and he said to me “I think the university kid has a better chance of being hired than me.” In the end they were hired at the same time.
In keeping with Jean-Pierre’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald Street.

Jean-Pierre was a jack of all trades. He knew his craft and perfecting it brought great excitement to him and those around him. He was proud of his work and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others to continue his legacy.
Our dad was extremely frugal. He always found deals for less, and sometimes better than the original. He was also resourceful. He always asked us if we wanted to go for a ride with him to the junkyard and find some spare parts for the cars he was fixing, he always able to turn something old into something new.
JP was very sentimental. He kept everything that held value to him, the items he collected had a reason and meaning behind them. Drawings, Letters, anything we made him stayed with him and he cherished it.
As the perfectionist he always made the attempt to strengthen his skills. Improvement led to more goals and accomplishments. Our dad made the effort to see different perspectives in order to understand the bigger picture.
Our papa was also a food fanatic. He loved his potatoes and all his beef and chicken, he loved his florescent cheese with noodles, and who could forget the meatloaf! Pizza nights were basically every Friday, and he was always down for some Five Guys.
He did everything possible to spend as much time with us. He’d take us on family excursions, whether it be to the movies, out to eat, or simply a chill night around the fire pit enjoying each other’s presences. He spoiled us with so much love.
Our dad loved mama, and always thought of her any time of the day. He’d ask us what she’d liked so he could surprise her, he always looked into finding time alone with her.
We found a piece of paper of which he described himself as; how he saw himself. He wrote:
“I am Devine. Compassionate, Caring, Sensitive, Loving, Forgiving, Cooperative, Empathic, Creative, Energetic, Joyful, Inquisitive, Irrepressible, Non-conformist and Uplifting.”
Others around considered him to be a colorful person, always brightening their day. Papa is irreplaceable, and will forever be in our hearts. There are so many more memories with him and his unique soul.
Jean-Pierre is a blessing.
