Obituary for
Jean-Claude Levesque
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Jean-Claude on Friday, October 30, 2020 at the Timmins & District Hospital – Hospice with family by his side. Beloved husband of Micheline (nee Desjardins) and loving father of Elise Bouvier (Dave Neil). Cherished grandfather of Domenick Bouvier (fiancée Samantha Génier-Jacques). Dear brother of Gaby (late Dieudonné) Houde, Gemma Levesque (Guy Fortin), Hervé (Francine) Levesque, Guy (Jocelyne) Levesque, late Marcel (Claudette) Levesque and late Jean-Yves Levesque. He will be missed by his sister-in-law Diane Geoffroy and his brothers-in-law Daniel (Denise) Desjardins and Donald (Monique) Desjardins. He leaves many nieces and nephews whom he loved to tease to no end. Jean-Claude is predeceased by his parents Florian and Elise (nee Dionne).
Jean-Claude was an electrician by trade. He worked for Ontario Hydro and retired his career with Kidd Creek Met Site. He was a calm and quiet man who enjoyed the camp, fishing, 4 wheeling in nature trails; a true outdoors man. He enjoyed helping people. All you had to do is give him a call and he was there. Jean-Claude was a man who loved to tinker with things, people called him MacGyver! He enjoyed watching his favorite hockey team, The Montreal Canadiens. He was their #1 fan. His recent passion was to play cards. He enjoyed taking trips to play in different tournaments.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff of the TADH Hospice for the amazing care and compassion given to Jean-Claude and his family. Your acts of kindness will not go unrecognized. Also, a very special thank you to Esther Langevin for all her help. Liz Feldman from Bayshore nurses for all the care given when Jean-Claude was at home as well as Marnie Chisholm from the Home and Community Care North LHIN.
The funeral mass will take place at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 from St Anthony’s Cathedral (Msgr Pat Lafleur officiating). It is important to adhere to current provincial guidelines on the pandemic. Mask wearing, social distancing and the church maximum capacity will be in place. Remembrance donations to Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. The funeral arrangements are entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 150 Balsam St. S. Timmins.
