Jane Patricia Devine (Curran) R.N.
1942-2020
On Tuesday, November 24, 2020, Jane passed away peacefully,
surrounded by her loving family at the Riverview Manor in
Montague. She joins her husband and best friend Gerard, who
passed away August 13th, to begin their eternal life
together.
Dear mother of Sean (Alexa), Cary (Tara) and Jason.
Grandmother of Charlie, Maggie, Henry, Emily, Thomas, Daniel, Benjamin
and Griffin. Sister of Mary Kelly, Morell; Frank Curran (Alice),
Hazelbrook; Anna Curran and Rita Curran, St.
Teresa’s. Sister-in-law of Deanna Curran, Harold
Gallant, Geraldine McKenna, Freda Devine and Thelma Devine. Fondly
remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Tom
and Laura Curran, and parents-in-law, Jack and Lauretta Devine,
siblings John Curran and Cathy Gallant, brothers-in-law and
sisters-in-law George Kelly, Merlin Devine (Eileen), Ebbie Devine,
Ernie Devine, Leona Doyle, Rosella Marasciullo (Dave) and Carl
McKenna, and infant nephew Lou
Kelly.
Family, friends and faith were of top priority to Jane, as
exemplified by her ever-present gift of hospitality. She
shared her home, her table and her compassion with the many who were
always welcome in the Devine home. Being a mother and a nurse was her
calling as she nurtured her own family, the children of the
neighborhood, her patients needing her Maritime bedside manner, or the
stranger in need. She cared greatly for many.
Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford. Due to current
restrictions a private family visitation and funeral service will be
held. Interment in St. Cuthbert’s Cemetery, St.
Teresa.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Cuthbert’s Church and
Parish Cemetery or Montague Home Care.
