Jacques Prieur (1929-2020)
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Jacques Prieur in Sturgeon Falls Hospital on November 9th, 2020. He was 91 years of age. Born in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, he was the son of Adrien Prieur and Alma Nadeau. Jacques was predeceased by his wife Paulette Armstrong. He leaves behind his children, Francine (Claude Gagné), Nicole, Lise (Robert Canthal), Pierre (Renée-Claude Frigon) and Daniel (Wendy Van Weert), eight grandchildren and very special friend Laura Arcand Renaud. He is survived by his brother, Guy Prieur (Jacqueline) and predeceased by Gérard, Germaine Gallagher, Cécile, Léon, Jean, Jeanne Jarry, Jacqueline Sprentall and Marcel.
Jacques was a kind and compassionate man, who always found ways to express his generosity and support. Quiet and more reserved in spirit, he also knew the value of sharing good conversation and moments with his friends and family. A self-taught man, Jacques became a life insurance representative, providing for his family and establishing relationships of trust with all his clients. Having been raised among the great natural beauty and resources of the north, he nurtured a love of the outdoors and shared it with all his family and friends. His incredibly giving spirit and quiet dedication to those around him will be his lasting legacy.
The family wishes to thank the Pavillon and Hospital staff as well as Palliative Care. At the family’s request and to respect Covid restrictions, a private gathering and service will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements by Theoret bourgeois Funeral Home.
