Jack was born in Chilliwack BC in 1945, grew up in Yale, back in the day when the smokes where cheap and the hair grease was flowing. At the age of 15, he could be called the original Highway through Hell tow truck driver as he raced through the Fraser Canyon to many a winter wreck with the police hot on his tail. He often said, if he couldn’t drive from Yale to Hope in under 10 minutes he would drive back and try again.
Jack’s love for logging trucks stems from early visits to his grandparent’s home and watching the old logging trucks, come barreling down the narrow mountain roads. That lead to many years of driving and ultimately his own trucking company, JeDean Ent. Ltd. Naming the trucks Tammy Lee and the last truck named after Betty-Lou.
In 1985 the love story of Jack and Betty Lou began and the Ashton Creek ‘Brady Bunch’ was created. Initially, despite rather cramped living quarters, the family bonded and became a close knit group. The home on the hill became the center for many laughter filled family gatherings. Jack loved his family and as every grandchild was born, his heart filled with overwhelming pride and joy.
Jack loved the outdoors, camping and fishing and he really enjoyed plowing snow. He loved to read novels and would often finish a book in 1 or 2 days looking then for another.
There is no celebration of life planned at this time. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Jack William Simpson January 2nd 2020..
