Irene Pearl Vickers (Jones)
A beautiful life remembered. On the night of June 11, 2020 Irene held her daughter Daphne’s hand as she peacefully passed on to continue Gods work, in heaven. Many will remember Irene as a strong, selfless woman who never felt need to rely on or ask anyone for anything. One whom always went out of her way to help anyone in need. No matter the circumstance. Irene could be seen walking to the Squamish United Church each Sunday morning, where she would hand out the bibles until she was 93 years of age. She passed with no regrets & surrounded by love. Irene leaves behind a daughter Daphne (Reg), step daughter Pat, grandson Nicholas (Chelsea) as well as 2 beautiful great grandchildren Andrew & Taylor to carry on her legacy.
A special thank-you goes out to the 2nd floor Hilltop House staff for providing Irene with outstanding care during her stay, as it was her home the past 5 years.
A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Malherbe for always going above & beyond to not only provide Irene with the best healthcare. But taking time out of his busy day to check in with her family during difficult times.
A celebration of life will be held at Squamish Funeral Chapel on July 22nd at 1PM, reception to follow.
Irene’s request was that beautiful colours be worn, as she did not like the sadness of all black on a day where ones life was to be celebrated. She also requested in typical Irene fashion that in leu of flowers, donations be made to Hilltop House in Squamish
