Ida Mae Borden
1936-2020
Borden, Ida Mae, age 84, of Lower South River, Antigonish
County, passed away on November 24, 2020 at home with her family at
her side after a brief fight with cancer.
Born in Guysborough Intervale, she was a daughter of the late
Jerry and Sarah Borden.
Ida’s life was her family and her kids; everything
she did was for them. Her grandchildren were her world, and
she cherished her time with them. She spent her days with
loving husband, Alexander, on many road trips, enjoying yard sales,
flea markets, and bingo. Ida was a member of the Royal
Canadian Legion, the Lions Club, and worked as a housekeeper and
porter at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital.
She is survived by her children, Bernadette, Roger, Starr,
Martha (Ralph); stepdaughter, Shirley Ann; grandchildren, Alexander
Travis (Christina) Borden, Brenda Borden (Marcel), and Kendall
(Andrew) Boudreau; 10 great grandchildren; and nieces, Darlene and
Sarah.
Predeceased by her husband, Alexander; daughter, Sarah Jane;
and her brother, Howie.
Visitation will be held Sunday in C.L. Curry Funeral Home,
135 College Street, Antigonish, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm.
Social distancing protocols must be followed, and masks are
mandatory. A private family funeral will be held with burial
in Upper Big Tracadie United Baptist Church Cemetery.
