Hilda Mary Wall
March 26, 1927 – September 16, 2020
Passed peacefully away, with her daughter Karen and loving granddaughter Clare at her bedside, on September 16, 2020 at Pleasant View Towers, age 93.
Predeceased by her husband Vincent in 2011 and Robert Wall in 2015. Leaving to mourn her loss are her daughter Karen Wall (husband Dick Young) and their children Adam, Joshua and Clare. Also left to mourn are family members, Deborah Power (John Hanson), New Brunswick, Patricia Guzman (Armando), Quebec, Sandra Wall, CBS, Wayne Wall (Leslie), Ontario, Isabel Wall, Nova Scotia, Raymond Penney (Lorraine), Mount Pearl and Cyril Penney (Joan), New Brunswick; grandchildren: Adam Young, Joshua Young, Clare Young, Lindsay Wall-Burns (Shane), Robert Wall (Gisele Carvalho), Brian Wall (Jessica Prince), Peter Guzman (Daina), Julian Guzman (Leanne) and Christopher Power; great-grandchildren: Gavin, Natalia, Albert and Maxim; long-time family friend Jim Power, New Brunswick, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends.
Hilda was a valued long-time employee at S.O. Steele and F.W. Woolworths. After retiring with her husband Vincent, they spent many happy years at their cottage where Hilda could be found trouting on the side of the pond or ice fishing with Dad.
The family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the staff of 2SE Pleasant View Towers for their care and compassion over the last four years. They truly became part of Hilda’s family.
Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Sunday, September 20, 2020 from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Funeral Service to take place on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at 2 p.m. from Caul’s Chapel. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Hilda’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Newfoundland and Labrador or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
