At the age of 98, Herbert Hanbidge Barber entered the presence of his Lord early Saturday morning, Oct. 24, 2020.
Born in 1922 and raised on a farm near Owen Sound, ON, Dad graduated from the University of Toronto and entered pastoral ministry. He married Elizabeth (nee Haynes) on his 23rd birthday. Dad pastored in Elmira, ON (1945-1948), Regina, SK (1948-1953) and at Calvary Temple, Wpg (1953-1997). “Pastor H. H. Among his numerous other accomplishments, Dad founded Calvary Temple Youth Camp and Calvary Place Personal Care Home. His life verse was Galatians 6:14 “But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. »
Dad is survived by his wife of 75 years, Margaret Elizabeth (or Betty), sons Lorne (Illa), John (Karin), Jim (Charlene), daughters Lynda (Thor) and Sharie (Wayne), 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
