Harry I. Deloyer of Dublin, passed away peacefully at Seaforth Manor surrounded by family on Thursday, March 5, 2020, in his 89th year.
Beloved husband of Mary (nee Snyders) for 60 years.
Loved father of John (Cyndi) Deloyer, Dan (Agnes) Deloyer, Diane (Tom) Dickson, Rob (Carolyn) Deloyer, Betty Ann (Scott) Young and Colleen (Mark) Myronyk.
Proud Opa of Crystal (Steven) Buckley, Matt Deloyer, Gabrielle Deloyer (Beverly Stadelmann), Rebecca Deloyer, Nick (Shellie) Deloyer, Danielle (Kyle) Pellerin, Justine Deloyer, Erica (Bryan) Prystupa, Lindsay (Tyler) Boudreau, Amberlee Dickson (Matt Heinbuck), Craig Dickson, Chris (Jess) Deloyer, Jamie (Kenzie) Deloyer, Mike Deloyer (Hannah Craven), Taylor Young, Sean Young (Kira McKillop), and Ellie Young.
Great-Opa of Jake and Luke Buckley, Olivia and Ella Deloyer, Grace and Henry Pellerin, Henry and Lily Boudreau.
Harry has been welcomed by those who predeceased him and will be dearly missed by many extended family and friends.
Harry was born in Dieden, the Netherlands, and as a young, twenty-two-year-old man, immigrated to Canada in May 1954. He came from a farming background and together with Mary, successfully achieved goals of owning a farm, raising their family, watching them prosper and enjoying retirement.
His strong work ethic, tenacity, sense of adventure, competitive spirit, fun-loving harmless mischief and generosity have been appreciated and passed on to his kin.
A life blessed and well lived…
Visitation on Tuesday, March 24th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dublin, on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at 11 am. Reception to follow in the church hall. Private spring burial will take place.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Patrick’s Church, Dublin, Muscular Dystrophy or a charity of choice would be appreciated.
A tree will be planted in memory of Harry I. Deloyer in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 20, 2020 at 2:30 pm.
